What are you most excited for this summer? I love that it stays lighter out longer, more time to enjoy the sun!
Labor Day to me was always the unofficial end of summer.
I would start packing up my bags for the inevitable start of school, read over syllabi that were posted 3 weeks early, and stress over someone’s signature that I was missing for Res Life. Then, of course, I would start to panic about what happens when it gets too chilly for sandals and flip flops, when in reality I would remain in flip flops for a good month and a half.
Not this year. This year I will not be looking over any syllabi, I would be hunting down residents for their signatures, or telling them to be quiet at 3am. This year I will be chasing wayward flower girls, handing out parking permits and doing walk through of as many LA venues as I possibly can. I will also be folding, selling and buying far too many clothes.
Another big change this year is no change of seasons, in theory. It will be fall, and fall clothing will be on the shelves but I will get to rock bare feet and tee shirts for a few months longer. Oh, and no winter coats? Count me in! What are you doing now that the summer is slowly coming to a close? Jeremy and I watched the sunset on the beach while devouring sandwiches which was a lovely way to “end the summer”, I forgot my phone so no pics!
What did you do to end the summer?
It seems that I have made some pretty good progress on my summer bucket list! I am still working on some main ones, like the whole “job” thing. While I’m doing some intern work, it would be nice to be able to keep affording my affordable apartment.
I hope everyone has a lovely Friday and an even better weekend! Our couch arrives tomorrow morning, which is way more exciting than it should be… I think a movie night is in order! Any suggestions?
Also- for my east coast readers- stay safe and dry this weekend!
The other night, I asked one of my best friends, Eddie, if he wanted to go to the farmer’s market with me. We became friends when we spend many nights closing up shop at the restaurant we worked at together. It’s funny how fast you make friends while sweeping floors and scraping grilles.
Going to the farmer’s market isn’t necessarily something he would want to do so I was shocked when he told me that it was on his summer bucket list! I thought that a summer bucket list was a pretty clever idea so I complied a little list for myself!
Let’s see what I can get through during this hectic and crazy summer! What’s on your summer bucket list? Are you going on any trips or vacations? I can’t wait to drive cross-country!
Feeling inspired by this Cupcakes and Cashmere post and my friend Dara from Dark Berry Beauty. I decided to have some fun with my nails to celebrate summer! I think using craft glitter would work well and make the effect look more graduated but I only had the sparkley polish, which is great btw.
I can’t wait to try new colors combos and other fun nail designs! Enjoy your weekend!
No, I’m not going to bust out a haiku about the legendary sneaker company, more like gush about how much I love them. If you know me well, you know I love to rock my pink Keds not only because they are comfy but because they a bright and stylish. Kind of like my own personality!
The term sneakers, according to the “all-knowning” Wikipedia, comes from the fact that the rubber soles on Keds allowed the wearer to sneak around quietly. It is true, my Keds don’t make much noise. Other great qualities? Affordable, laceless, and a large variety of colors and patterns!
I was lusting after this J. Crew lace tank top that I found on Net-A-Porter.com for a kind-of-too-steep-for-a-tank-top $88…
instead I opted for this chiffon back tank top from Jessica Simpson Collection for $10 bucks at Macy’s!
Have you made any swaps lately? Sometimes It’s just the shape and color for something that makes it a suitable substituent for a splurge item!
