Liz Taylor, in my book, is Hollywood Royalty. She grew up gracefully on screen and made the most of her life, how many people can say that! She was married 8 times to 7 men, each wedding more lavish then the next. For all her looks, view the slide show here. Some of the non-tradition highlights? She wore green and yellow, a modest suit and an outlandish fur coat!
I’ve only slept with men I’ve been married to. How many women can make that claim?
Elizabeth Taylor, February 27, 1932 – March 23, 2011
Who doesn’t love a little Van Morrison to start the day off?
Although I prefer Moondance, Domino was more fitting. Oof I also didn’t realize that Van was not such a hottie in his day.
Not much to update today, except for the fact that I am super excited for this weekend! Despite the fact that I will be cooped up in the library all weekend finishing up a bunch of projects due on Monday.
Adorable post on Apartment 34 featuring cake toppers, it is the simplest of details that really push a wedding from good to great. Being detail oriented is an important skill to have when you want to be an event planner, it’s kind of like domino’s, as soon as the wedding starts, all the dominoes have to fall or else there will be a hold up, like in this video:
The kid is kind of cute though.
Here is an insane wedding dress on a shoot from Rebekah Westover Photography that I found on Rock n’ Roll Bride. It is so beautiful I want to scream! I love the collar, it’s very traditional in a non-traditional way… does that make sense?
Well I am off to get some work done so this weekend isn’t a complete bust, but only 1 week until Thanksgiving, which means good food and no school aka relaxation time! What are your plans for Thanksgiving? I am working that night so I am going out to dinner with my family earlier in the day, hey- as long as there is food involved I don’t care where I am!
Something to do: At Hofstra? Need to practice your networking skills? The Hofstra PRSSA’s Networking Dinner is tonight at 7pm! The committee worked super hard to put this together and there is always a great turn out of students and professionals. See you then!
Even though I’m pretty sure that’s an oxymornon.
Was your weekend filled with copious amounts of homework like mine? Luckily the weeks have seem to be flying by and I’m just one step closer to busting out in the real world. Dressing this morning seemed to be an extra difficult task, and I felt the need for some pizazz, I think it’s only appropriate for a Monday. So I put on my $12 bracelet from Target I got ages ago, it doesn’t take much to spice up a simple outfit!
Recently I’ve seen on the wedding blogs and in the more nontraditional weddings brides with awesome statement necklaces. Melissa from The Loveliest Day featured some brides rocking the trend. I think it is be a great way for women who really express themselves. The photo’s are pretty gorgeous too!
I decided to do some
procrastinating online shopping this weekend for some statement pieces on the cheap. I need to bulk up my costume jewelery collection if every Monday is going to feel like this.
Hubba hubba! This necklace from Topshop is a steal at $30 and also can count as your something blue!
I really like this one from Forever 21 however not a huge fan of the quality of jewelry from Forever, but what can you expect much more for $5.80?
Ooo Sparkley! This Urban Outfitters rhinestone mesh bib is beautiful! I wish I had an event lovely enough to wear it to, definitely adding it to my wishlist! Pretty good deal at $34.00.
Now that I have successfully put off my homework long enough, I must get going and be productive! Do you have a favorite place for costume jewelry or do you only wear the real thing?
How cliche is that? Something New.
Well, it is new my wedding blog, dedicated to all things bridal, weddings, beautiful and sweet.
Why weddings? I’m going to throw another cliche at you- I love love. I love the idea of two people falling in love and wanting to share their lives together. Okay I’ll stop before I break the mushy meter.
I will keep it sweet and simple, I want to explore the limitless possibilities of this industry while giving you, the reader, a jumping off point. Anything is fair game- dresses, cakes, brides, grooms, decor, venues, music, and of course love.
Cake cutting dress from Quail Bridal
How sweet is this look from Quail Bridal? The combination of the blue ribbon with the yellow heels gives the dress a very flirty feel. To complete the look, a birdcage vail, one of my favorite looks.
What do you think? Would you choose such an non-traditional look for walking down the aisle? Or would you just wear it for the reception, either way I think it is adorable!
